Celebrating Our Colours

The school came alive with the colours of Nigeria as our children arrived dressed in beautiful shades of green and white. From our youngest learners in Nido to the children in Toddler and Children’s House, everyone brought their own excitement to the celebration.

The colourful outfits, decorations, and cheerful atmosphere created a wonderful sense of togetherness across our school community.

Learning Through Celebration

At Aquila Nidus, celebrations are also opportunities for meaningful learning.

Throughout the day, the children were introduced to aspects of Nigeria’s identity and culture through age-appropriate conversations and activities. They explored the significance of our national colours and experienced Nigerian culture through music, movement, creativity, and shared activities.

These experiences help children begin to understand the community and country they are part of while encouraging curiosity about the world around them.

Music, Movement and Happy Moments

Of course, no celebration would be complete without music and movement!

The children enjoyed opportunities to sing, dance, interact with their friends, and simply have fun together. There were smiles all around as each community celebrated in its own special way.

It was wonderful to see the children expressing themselves freely and enjoying the shared experience with their teachers and classmates.

One Community, Celebrating Together

One of the most special parts of the day was seeing our different communities connected by one celebration.

Although our Nido, Toddler, and Children’s House children are at different stages of their Montessori journey, occasions like Independence Day remind us of the importance of belonging, community, and shared experiences.
