Child-Centeredness
The child leads. We observe, prepare and follow the individual path of each learner.
About us
Since 2012, Aquila Nidus has served families in Gbagada with authentic Montessori education for children from two months to six years.
We envision a world where skilled, respectful adults guide children to align with God’s unique design for them.
We empower adults to nurture and guide children in realizing their God-given potential.
Core values
The child leads. We observe, prepare and follow the individual path of each learner.
Our love for children drives us to keep learning about them, refine our practice and deepen our Montessori craft.
We value openness and honesty towards each other. We do what we say, in front of families and when no one is watching.
We own our actions, keep our commitments and make choices that honour the child.
Home and school work as one team around the child, in open and regular dialogue.
Prepared environments, trained guides and careful detail in everything we offer.
Every child is known by name, spoken to with dignity and guided with grace.
Meet Ajoke David
Montessori Educator Parenting & Montessori Coach Educational Leader
BSc Biochemistry, PGCE, MBA, AMI 3-6 Dip., AMI 6 - 12 Dip.
Ajoke David is a Montessori educator, educational leader, parenting coach and entrepreneur with a deep commitment to helping children thrive and empowering the adults who guide them.
For over 14 years, Ajoke has led Aquila Nidus Montessori School, building a community rooted in respect for the child, authentic Montessori practice and meaningful partnership with families. What began in 2012 with four children has grown into a school shaped by her conviction that education is not simply about academic achievement, but about nurturing the whole child — mind, body and spirit.
Ajoke holds AMI Montessori diplomas for ages 3–6 and 6–12, alongside training in Montessori school administration and leadership, Montessori strategies for special needs, and CELTA for teaching English as a second language. She is also a certified Montessori coach and has completed further professional development in areas including emotional intelligence, inclusion and child development.
Her experience extends beyond the classroom. Before dedicating herself fully to education, Ajoke worked in healthcare administration, leading teams and developing systems that strengthened organisational effectiveness and professional practice. These experiences continue to shape her approach to school leadership, staff development and service.
One of Ajoke’s greatest passions is parent education. Through her work as a Montessori and parenting coach, she supports parents to understand their children more deeply, respond with greater intention and create home environments that foster independence, connection, responsibility and confidence.
She is particularly passionate about the earliest years of life and believes that when adults are equipped with the knowledge, skills and mindset to truly understand children, they can change the trajectory of a child’s life.
At the heart of Ajoke’s work is a simple conviction:
Every child deserves adults who understand them, respect them and are committed to helping them become who they were created to be.
This conviction continues to guide her vision for Aquila Nidus — a world where skilled, respectful adults guide children to align with God’s unique design for them.
A Montessori classroom is much more than a room filled with Montessori materials. The environment, the adult, the materials, and the way the community functions all work together to support the child’s independence and development.
“The greatest gifts we can give our children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence.”
